The firing order remains the same 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2, the distributor turns clockwise looking at it from above.Whatever post number one cylinder is connected to, the next one moving clockwise. If plug wires are still on the motor, check firing order

Mercruiser 5.7. In my haste, I think I have the plug wires going to the wrong studs on the distributor caps. Gap is 0.44 (Denso plugs are pregapped so you shouldn't need to actually gap them and the tip is very fragile so be careful checking) and plug torque is 15 ft-lb for LC.
